私がお世話になっている福島県南相馬市の縫製会社。そこでの手さげバックの制作依頼が、一つの奇跡を生むきっかけとなりました。

2022年3月16日、福島県沖でマグニチュード7.2の地震が発生。その揺れは東京に住む私にも強烈に伝わり福島での被害を直に想像しました。

翌日、縫製会社の取締役に連絡を取ると、被害は予想以上に甚大で、工場は至る所に爪痕を残していました。幸いにも怪我人はなく
その一報にはほっとしたものの取締役の声には明らかに心労が感じられました。

それを聞き、私は考えました。何か自分にできることはないだろうか、勇気づけることはできないだろうか。そこで思いついたのが、制作していただいた手さげバックを販売し、その売り上げを寄付するというアイデアでした。

早速SNSで仲間に声をかけ、賛同してくれる人々がいるのか最初は不安でしたが、販売開始から2日目に1人が購入してくれると、次々と様々な仲間が購入を申し出てくれました。久しくお会いできていない方々からもご購入いただき、コミュニティーが更に絆を深めるきっかけにもなりました。

そして、ついに3月30日、全30個の手さげバックが完売しました。その結果、寄付を含めた総売上は109,186円に達しました。この金額全てを福島の縫製会社へと寄付することができました。この一連の活動は、私たち一人一人の小さな思いや行動が、一つになることで大きな力となり得ることを改めて感じさせてくれました。

また、購入してくれた方々から喜びの声をいただき、私たちの活動が彼らの心にも届いていることを知ることができました。それはとても嬉しく、これからも一人でも多くの方にこの思いを届けていきたいと強く思いました。

何より、この活動を通じて、南相馬市の縫製会社と共に歩んだ一つの道のりは、私たちにとって大切な経験となりました。困難な状況の中でも、助け合い、支え合い、前に進むことの大切さを教えてくれたのです。

私たちの小さな一歩が、きっと大きな未来へと繋がっていくことを信じて。これからも私たちの活動をどうぞ温かく見守っていただけますと幸いです。

福島県双葉郡富岡町　夜ノ森桜トンネル

The sewing company in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, with which I have a strong connection, became the catalyst for a small miracle through our project of making tote bags.

On March 16, 2022, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck off the coast of Fukushima. Even in Tokyo, where I live, the tremors were intensely felt, leading me to vividly imagine the damage that had occurred in Fukushima.

The next day, when I contacted the director of the sewing company, the damage was far worse than anticipated, with signs of destruction visible throughout the factory. Thankfully, there were no injuries, and although I was relieved to hear this, it was clear that the director was under significant emotional strain.

Hearing this, I started to think: Isn’t there something I can do? Can’t I provide some form of encouragement? That’s when I came up with the idea of selling the tote bags they made for us, and donating the proceeds.

Immediately, I reached out to my network through social media. At first, I was uncertain whether people would support us, but once the first person made a purchase two days after the launch, more and more friends started to place their orders. Even people I hadn’t seen in a long time joined in, deepening the bonds within our community.

Finally, on March 30, all 30 tote bags were sold out. As a result, including donations, our total sales reached 109,186 yen, which was fully donated to the sewing company in Fukushima. This series of activities reminded us once again how each small thought and action can become a powerful force when combined.

Moreover, we received words of joy from our purchasers, letting us know that our activities had reached their hearts. This was very encouraging, and it strengthened our resolve to convey our feelings to as many people as possible.

Above all, this journey we took with the sewing company in Minamisoma was a precious experience for us. Even in difficult situations, we learned the importance of helping and supporting each other, and moving forward.
